Emergency appeal for Pakistan

download the Pakistan appeal posterImagine that within a month your entire country was flooded so badly that your home and the homes of your extended family and friends were washed away. In Pakistan right now 20 Million people are affected by severe flooding and 8 million are completely displaced and in need of urgent assistance. Over 160, 000 km2 (an area the size of Italy) of Pakistan is affected so far and things are set to get worse. If this was Ireland, we would want the whole world to dip into their pockets and help us in our despair. Well, the world has been slow to help Pakistan and the situation is worsening daily.

As in any disaster, it is the children who suffer most. It is estimated that tens of thousands of children could die from hunger, dehydration and disease. About 100,000 women are due to give birth and they and their babies will also be at risk of disease.

How to help:

DONATE TODAY
Make an online donation. We give 100 percent of monies we receive.
Donate at www.justgiving.com/Tuesday-s-Child »
Just Giving to Tuesday's Child
We will use donations to procure essential items e.g. medicines, vaccines, water purification kits, high energy biscuits.

GET MORE INVOLVED AND HAVE A FUNDRAISING EVENT
Want to get more involved? Why not organise a fundraising event e.g. coffee morning, sponsored walk, pub quiz, cake sale, house party, raffle. Or even ask your local pub to have a whip round; have a de-clutter and go to a car-boot sale, organise a collection at work, a non-uniform day when you go back to school. Maybe you are in a club, sports team, parish group or voluntary group who would be keen to make a team effort for the children of Pakistan. If you have any ideas get in touch with us through facebook or our website. You can download our appeal poster from the website or share them with your friends on facebook

One Country Country Spotlight: Democratic Republic of Congo... The recent civil war in eastern DRC has devastated many aspects of life and children are among those most affected. A population size equivalent to that of Ireland, north and south, died either through direct conflict or displacement. Mulongo is a school catering for about 2000 children. The school is one of many decimated during the war. It needs rebuilt and basic school supplies and a playground facility with better salaries to retain underpaid teachers. The Active Christian Evangelism (ACE) Group, lead by Dr Graham Fry, is funding the project; more funds are needed. Other areas in needs are feeding programmes, health promotion programmes and support of a new maternity hospital. Find out more about the Countries we help...
