“There is a child born to us, a Son given to us…And His name shall be called: Wonder Counsellor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace”. Is 9:6

Tuesday’s Child invites children and young people across Ireland to contribute to our Christmas Art Competition. The theme of the competition is The Christmas Story of the Nativity. Proceeds will go towards our Christmas appeal for children in Gaza, Kenya, Uganda and Brazil. There are great prizes for all age groups. The national competition hopes to get children and young people focusing on the real meaning of Christmas and using their talents and abilities to reach out and help children and young people living in extreme hardship.

Theme and artwork
Artwork should focus on the nativity of Jesus, choosing any scene from the very first Christmas e.g. journey of the Holy Family to Bethlehem, the manger, Mother and Child, the shepherds’ field, the journey of three wise men, the three wise men presenting gifts etc. There were animals in the manger so they are welcome in paintings too!
Artwork can use any medium or materials and should be on white paper, minimum of A4 size to a maximum of A2 paper. Work should be original and unaided.

Exhibition
A selection of pieces of art from each age- group category (8 categories A-H), including the winners and runners-up, will feature on our online exhibition. Artwork may also be chosen for use in future campaigns to help children and young people living in war-torn parts of the world. e.g. walk-in exhibitions, Christmas cards etc.
